An Evening with Robert McChesney: The Golden Age of Propaganda! Understanding and Reforming Today’s Media

Date:
April 7, 2011 - 7:00am - 10:00am

Experience the inspiring keynote oratory of scholar, reformer, and legend Robert McChesney on the evening of April 7, following the ACME conference, and the night before the National Conference for Media Reform.

“The problem we face with a hyper-commercial, profit-obsessed media system is that most of what it produces is propaganda, which is a lousy way to create citizens.
A solution is real media education that doesn't just make people more informed consumers, but active citizens who understand how it all works.”
-Robert McChesney
award-winning author of ten books
about media, democracy and culture

Following the keynote will be a networking reception featuring the noted folk band, the Phineas Gage Project.

This talk is the culminating event of a daylong conference, but ACME is inviting the general public as well. A donation of $5 is requested, but not required.
